Castlepollard Community College celebrated another memorable Awards Night in the Castle Varagh Hotel as students, families and staff came together to recognise the many achievements and successes from across the school community during the 2025/26 academic year.
The evening showcased the incredible talent, dedication and hard work of students across a wide range of areas including academics, sport, leadership, attendance, music, performance and contribution to school life. Students were recognised for their commitment and excellence in subjects throughout the school, while a number of special awards highlighted the positive impact students continue to make within the wider school community.
A proud moment on the night was the presentation of medals to the school’s Leinster-winning Junior Boys Hurling team following a fantastic season that brought great pride to the school and local community. The achievement was warmly celebrated by all in attendance.
One of the most anticipated moments of the evening was the announcement of the major student awards. Staff spoke about the extremely high standard of nominees this year and the difficulty involved in selecting winners due to the outstanding contributions made by so many students throughout the year.
Congratulations to Virginia Carr who was named Senior Student of the Year in recognition of her exceptional contribution to school life and academic excellence. Congratulations also to Jack McCormack who received the LCA Student of the Year award following a hugely successful year.
The evening also featured a number of excellent musical performances from students, while the school choir brought the ceremony to a fitting close with a wonderful performance.
Castlepollard Community College would like to congratulate all award recipients and nominees and thank the staff, parents and families who continue to support and encourage students throughout the year.
