Mens Gaelic
At Castlepollard Community College we offer Gaelic Football at junior and senior level. These teams compete in competitions organised by Leinster Council and Westmeath GAA.
The school has a brilliant relationship with the local feeder clubs Ballycomoyle GFC, Castletown Finea GFC and other clubs in the locality on the back of our inaugural C’mon Peil 7-a-side blitz for the Ned Flynn Perpetual Cup. Our players’ skill levels have increased with the level of coaching that they are receiving in both the clubs and the school and this has allowed them to compete at a higher level in these competitions and enjoy the game in general.
Ladies Gaelic
Our ladies Gaelic Football teams have been improving steadily in the past number of years. With strong representation from clubs such as Castletown Finea and Ballycomoyle among others, it is our aim to improve the player’s skill level and enhance the club/school relationship in the hope that students will emerge as rising stars for their counties. We are indebted to have the excellent coaching offered by current teachers, Ms. Guirke, Louise Farrelly and Ms. Aoife Brady (member of All Ireland Championship winning team, 2021), Westmeath Ladies Football star.
